This website is operated by The Gas Man. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Gas Man. By visiting our website and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our website or placing an order. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions set out below, you may not access the website or use our services.

1. Online Store Terms

By using this website, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or that you have given us consent to allow any of your minor dependants to use this site.

You may not use our products for any illegal, unsafe, or unauthorised purpose. You may not violate any laws, safety regulations, or industry rules applicable to LPG, gas cylinders, gas equipment, or related products.

A breach of any of these Terms may result in the cancellation of your order or termination of your access to our services.

2. Products and Services

The Gas Man is an online LPG and gas equipment store offering, where available:

  • LPG replacement / exchange cylinders

  • Full LPG cylinders with no exchange

  • Empty LPG cylinders

  • Gas equipment and accessories

  • Regulators, hoses, clamps, fittings, burners, stoves, and related products

  • Local delivery services

Product availability may vary depending on stock, supplier availability, delivery area, and operational capacity.

We reserve the right to add, remove, update, or discontinue products at any time without prior notice.

3. LPG Cylinder Purchase Types

To avoid confusion, LPG cylinder products may be offered in different purchase types. Customers are responsible for selecting the correct option before checkout.

3.1 Exchange / Replacement Cylinder

This option is for customers who already have an empty cylinder of the same size to return.

By selecting this option, you confirm that:

  • You have the correct empty cylinder available for collection.

  • The empty cylinder is the same size as the replacement cylinder ordered.

  • The empty cylinder is in acceptable condition.

  • The empty cylinder is legally exchangeable and not stolen, tampered with, unsafe, or damaged.

If you order an exchange/replacement cylinder but do not provide the required empty cylinder on delivery, we may:

  • Refuse delivery;

  • Charge the difference between the exchange price and the full cylinder price;

  • Request additional payment before completing delivery;

  • Cancel the order and deduct any applicable delivery or handling fees.

3.2 Full Cylinder — No Exchange

This option is for customers who do not have an empty cylinder to return.

The price includes the full cylinder and gas. This option may include the cost of the physical cylinder and may be priced higher than an exchange/replacement option.

3.3 Empty Cylinder Only

This option is for customers who want to purchase the physical empty cylinder only. No gas is included with this option.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the cylinder size and product type are correct before placing an order.

4. No On-Site Refills

The Gas Man does not refill gas cylinders on-site.

We supply replacement cylinders, full cylinders, empty cylinders, and related gas products depending on the product and purchase option selected.

5. Product Information and Accuracy

We make every effort to display product descriptions, prices, images, availability, and details as accurately as possible.

However, we do not guarantee that all product descriptions, images, pricing, stock availability, or other content on the website will always be complete, current, or error-free.

Product images are for illustrative purposes and may vary slightly from the actual product delivered, including branding, supplier label, cylinder appearance, or packaging.

We reserve the right to correct errors, update product information, cancel orders, or refuse orders where information on the website is inaccurate.

6. Pricing

All prices are displayed in South African Rand unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without notice.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors at any time. If a product is listed at an incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund the customer, or contact the customer to confirm whether they wish to proceed at the correct price.

Delivery fees, handling fees, deposits, or additional charges may apply and will be shown at checkout where applicable.

7. Orders

When you place an order, you agree that all information provided is accurate, complete, and current.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Product unavailability

  • Incorrect pricing

  • Suspected fraud

  • Unsafe delivery conditions

  • Incorrect delivery information

  • Failure to provide an exchange cylinder where required

  • Delivery address outside our service area

  • Legal, safety, or operational restrictions

An order is only accepted once payment has been received and we have confirmed that the order can be processed.

8. Payment

Payment must be made through the payment methods available on our website.

We may use third-party payment providers to process payments. By making payment, you agree to the terms and conditions of the relevant payment provider.

We do not store your full card details unless this is managed securely by an approved third-party payment provider.

Orders may not be processed until payment has cleared or been successfully authorised.

9. Delivery

We offer local delivery to selected areas.

Delivery areas, times, fees, and availability may change without notice.

Delivery times shown on the website or communicated to customers are estimates only. While we aim to deliver as quickly as possible, delays may occur due to traffic, stock availability, weather, operational issues, supplier delays, high demand, or other circumstances outside our control.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that:

  • The delivery address is correct.

  • Someone is available to receive the order.

  • Access to the property is safe and reasonable.

  • Any required empty exchange cylinder is ready for collection.

  • The delivery location is suitable for LPG delivery.

If delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect information, no access, no one being available, unsafe conditions, or failure to provide an exchange cylinder, we may charge an additional delivery fee for a second attempt.

10. Delivery Acceptance

By accepting delivery, you confirm that the product received appears to be correct and in acceptable condition.

Customers should inspect products upon delivery where reasonably possible.

Any issue with the order, such as the wrong cylinder size, incorrect product, visible damage, or missing item, must be reported to us as soon as possible.

11. LPG Safety

LPG is a flammable product and must be handled, stored, installed, and used safely.

By purchasing LPG cylinders or gas equipment from The Gas Man, you agree to:

  • Use gas products responsibly and safely.

  • Keep cylinders upright and in a well-ventilated area.

  • Keep cylinders away from heat, flames, sparks, and ignition sources.

  • Not tamper with cylinders, valves, seals, or safety fittings.

  • Not store cylinders in unsafe or prohibited areas.

  • Use the correct regulator, hose, and fittings.

  • Follow all manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.

  • Use a qualified person where installation or connection requires expertise.

The Gas Man is not responsible for damage, injury, loss, fire, explosion, gas leaks, incorrect installation, misuse, negligence, unsafe storage, or failure to follow safety instructions.

If you smell gas or suspect a leak, turn off the gas supply immediately if safe to do so, ventilate the area, avoid flames or electrical switches, and seek urgent assistance from a qualified professional or emergency services.

12. Installation and Use of Gas Equipment

Unless expressly stated in writing, products sold by The Gas Man do not include installation.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any gas equipment is installed, connected, and used correctly.

Where required, gas installations must be performed by a suitably qualified or registered professional.

The Gas Man is not liable for faults, damage, or safety incidents caused by incorrect installation, incompatible equipment, misuse, unauthorised modifications, or failure to follow product instructions.

13. Returns and Refunds

Our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms of Service.

Due to the nature of LPG gas products, gas purchases are non-refundable once delivered and accepted.

Gas equipment, accessories, and gadgets may be returned within 7 days of receiving the product if the item is faulty. Returned items must be inspected before a refund, repair, or replacement is approved.

Refunds will not be issued for products damaged through misuse, incorrect installation, negligence, normal wear and tear, or customer error.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any consumer rights that may apply under South African law.

14. Faulty Products

If you believe a product is faulty, you must notify us within 7 days of receiving the product.

We may request:

  • Your order number

  • Photos or videos of the fault

  • A description of the issue

  • Return of the product for inspection

  • Original packaging, where possible

After inspection, we may approve a refund, replacement, or repair depending on the nature of the fault, product condition, and applicable law.

15. Non-Returnable Items

Unless required by law, the following items are non-returnable:

  • LPG gas once delivered and accepted

  • Used gas products

  • Products damaged through misuse

  • Products damaged through incorrect installation

  • Products returned after the applicable return period

  • Items bought incorrectly by the customer

  • Change-of-mind purchases

  • Products that have been tampered with or modified

  • Products not in a condition suitable for resale, where applicable

16. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Choosing the correct product and purchase type.

  • Providing accurate delivery and contact details.

  • Ensuring safe access for delivery.

  • Ensuring someone is available to receive the order.

  • Returning the correct empty cylinder for exchange orders.

  • Checking product compatibility before use.

  • Following all safety instructions.

  • Using gas products only for their intended purpose.

17. Promotions, Discounts and Special Offers

Promotions, discounts, coupons, and special offers may be subject to additional terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to amend, suspend, or cancel promotions at any time.

Discounts may not be redeemable for cash and may not apply to delivery fees, deposits, or selected products unless stated otherwise.

18. Third-Party Tools and Services

Our website may use third-party platforms, apps, payment providers, analytics tools, delivery tools, or service providers.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or performance of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may suspend, restrict, or update the website at any time for maintenance, improvements, security, or operational reasons.

We are not liable for any loss arising from website downtime or technical errors.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Gas Man will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website, products, delivery services, or gas equipment.

This includes, but is not limited to, loss or damage caused by:

  • Incorrect use of LPG products

  • Incorrect installation

  • Unsafe storage

  • Customer negligence

  • Gas leaks caused by faulty customer-owned equipment

  • Use of incompatible equipment

  • Failure to follow safety instructions

  • Delays in delivery

  • Website errors or downtime

  • Third-party service failures

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

24. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold The Gas Man, its owners, employees, contractors, suppliers, and service providers harmless from any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms

  • Your misuse of products

  • Unsafe handling or storage of LPG

  • Incorrect installation or connection

  • False information provided by you

  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

25. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay is caused by events outside our reasonable control.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Supplier shortages

  • Transport delays

  • Load shedding or power interruptions

  • Weather conditions

  • Natural disasters

  • Strikes or labour disruptions

  • Accidents

  • Government restrictions

  • System failures

  • Public emergencies

  • Fuel shortages

26. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service at any time by posting updates on our website.

It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes.

Your continued use of the website after any changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

27. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
